About this Speaker

I am an experienced Special Needs Teacher running a tiny Cottage School catering for pupils with Special Needs. The Cottage School is a member of Pestalozzi Trust as well as the Association for Alternative Education, and offer an integrated studies approach to multisensory learning in order to enable learners to engage with subject matter more effectively. I also offer a series of Special Needs courses run by the UK based curriculum provider, Asdan. Courses are available full time or as a distance study option. I have over twenty years' experience with teaching across the curriculum, as well as experience of Special Needs teaching in primary schools in South Africa and secondary schools in the United Kingdom. The pupils I have worked with have ranged in age from seven years old to 20. I have worked with students with a range of learning difficulties, including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Downs Syndrome, SWilliams Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Disorders amongst others.
