Towards a Home Education Model for Africa

About this Speaker

I was born in Soweto and raised by a single mother together with my siblings. As a child I was always curious and never conformed to the narration of the day. My mom raised us in the ways of the Lord we practically spent more time at church than anywhere else. My first job was at 18yrs at the local butchery, it was not a fancy job but for an 18-year-old it was the best. At age 19 I joined ABSA bank. I left the banking industry to pursue my studies in accounting that’s where I feel in love with taxation and accounting. I am a child of God, a born again Christian and married to an awesome husband for 18 yrs now, together we are blessed with 3 beautiful girls (17,13 and 10 years). Our homeschooling journey began in 2012 with our firstborn was who was 8years old. We desired to teach them in the ways of the Lord, reference scripture Isaiah 54:13 “ All thy children shall be taught of the Lord.” Homeschooling has been a platform for us to teach our children in the ways of the Lord. We have thrived to “ Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Our main focus is to raise God-fearing children, who will be problem solvers and compete in the global economy with integrity and character. I am a member and a co-founder of Afrikan Legacy Home Education, formerly known as Northern Homeschoolers.
