Together with her husband, Marita Green has been home-educating their seven children from birth. They have both been active in the homeschooling community since 2003, and remain involved in the Association for Homeschooling, the original and oldest association of it's kind in South Africa.
Marita has been interviewed in the media several times and has participated in panel discussions related to home-education. She also hosts and participates in local support groups for home-educating mothers.
Marita views and defends homeschooling as a God-given responsibility. Their whole family is passionately involved in their church congregation.
Her two eldest daughters are already past their formal schooling years. The eldest is currently studying towards an honours degree in Industrial Design and is an award-winning Cum Laude student at the University of Johannesburg. The second eldest is studying theology, runs a small business making teddy bears, presents mountain bike skill clinics and is well-known at mountain bike races in South Africa.
Marita also does freelance editing for a growing Internet startup that curates the main insights of valuable articles from around the globe. She has a keen interest in permaculture and enjoys spending time with her family on long meandering mountain bike adventures.
